Description

"stars" is a drawing of Renko and Maribel on a building rooftop, looking at a bright, starry night sky, with a large city behind them.

Background

This was the third drawing in my "Hifuu Roadmap" project, filling in the space for Magical Astronomy. As such, the designs of the duo are inspired from that album cover. I wanted to draw a really high resolution drawing for once, which made me use Krita on my PC, instead of my usual Sketchbook. In fact, the canvas size for this drawing was so big, the original image wasn't allowed on Pixiv. Still, the large canvas size made it possible for me to draw a star-filled night sky, as well as a dense city background, while also preserving Renko and Maribel.

Techniques

The image is mainly blue, giving off a night-like feel to the entire image. Three point perspective was used for the background, to make it feel like the point of view is above the building. To allow using this image as a profile picture, while also giving detail to the building's rooftop at the same time, the floor was made reflective, giving a star-filled background on the building as well.
