Description

"stand" is a pixel art drawing, depicting a full-body Koishi against a gray background, and another version with white outlines to the left. She has her left arm raised up, with her right knee slightly bent.

No outlines were used for the right version, while a white 1 pixel outline is applied on the left. Inner outlines are absent, instead filling enclosed regions with white. Simple cel-shading is applied for the colors, with 4 main palettes making up most of the colors.

Background

"stand" is just another pixel art I wanted to make for the sake of it. Looking at the drawing, it's obvious my experience from 2022 did help a bit here, as the drawing is much less awkward than those that come before. Other than the torso part that kind of suffers from clutter, this one is pretty fine all around, except for the oversized hat.

This drawing was also used as the icon of my Discord server for some time. The name of this piece was given afterwards, "stand" being chosen because the pose reminded me of a typical acryllic stand, as well as Koishi herself also standing with a dynamic pose.

Techniques

The blocky shading on the dress and hair was implemented to give a feeling of blockiness and thickness. The palette for her hair and parts of her clothes were unified to give more of a coherent feeling. Shading was used on her legs to give the feeling of depth, her right knee being closer to the camera than the foot, while generally being closer than the left leg.
