Description

"sketch" is a drawing of Koishi from the waist up, with a white background dotted with soft pink splotches, and a large autograph to the left.

No outlines have been used for the drawing, and various brushes were used for different parts. The colors used are bright and saturated, with the shading somewhat resembling cel-shading.

Background

"sketch" is the first ever drawing I made using Sketchbook, which I stumbled upon while trying to look for things to do on my Chromebook at school. All the classes for the day had ended, and I got bored during self-study, leading me to install the app, and start digital drawing for the first time. Looking back, it kind of sucks a lot, but it really felt great that I actually drew something for real at the time. As evident in the various different brush textures in the picture, I was testing out each brush to see what they looked like, and tried to apply them to different parts of the drawing for texture.

The name of this piece, "sketch" was chosen because Sketchbook exports drawings as 'sketches' by default, and this drawing itself served as a kind of entry point to my future drawings, much like a sketch.

Techniques

Streaks were added to the blouse for the supposed effect of clothes folds.
