Description

"scarf" is a drawing of Renko and Maribel sharing a scarf, with cherry blossom trees and leaves in the background. The image in general has a reddish tint.

Motive

I realised it was Valentine's Day, and scrambled for around 4 hours trying to get a simple drawing out.

Process

This drawing was made with Sketchbook, and specifically with one of my favorite brushes, which I believe I also used for bu. Adding to that, the thick outline style used here is one of the easiest styles to pull off, leading to the similarities between the two pieces (although, the shading here is much simpler).
The part I experimented most on this was the colors, as I did do a lot of orange and blue tints (sunset/sunrise and night), but a red-pink tint was new to me. The colors were all hand-picked and manually adjusted, without the use of any overlay layers or color filters.

During the lineart stage, I realised that Renko was too unrecognizable, as at the time, she was just a dark-haired girl. Most of her outfit is also completely obscured, leading to her barely being recognisable. My first instinct was of course to add the hat back in, but it looked awkward, which is why I spontaneously chose to go for the Dateless Bar "Old Adam" design (which also subtly affected Merry's design, by having her hair be slightly curlier).
