Description

"renkomari" is a pixel art drawing of Renko and Maribel, Renko on the bottom left corner and Maribel upside-down on the top right corner. The bottom half of the image has a foggy city as the background, while the top half has a starry sky with a visible full moon, a thick layer of clouds separating the two.

The drawing doesn't have any outlines.

Background

For this drawing, I wanted to go for something like first, but more compatible on a mobile screen so I could use it as a wallpaper. So instead of placing the two on horizontal sides, I decided to arrange them vertically. The way I drew Renko's hair and the two's neckline left a lot to be desired, however, probably because I still wasn't all that familiar with drawing human characters yet.

Techniques

The background has a somewhat consistent color scheme made up of dark and bright oranges and grays. Thin shading was used in place of outlines to add inner detail to hair and Merry's hat.
