Description

"hedge" is a drawing of Koishi, standing in front of a rose bush, illuminated by rays of sunlight from the corner.

The drawing is in a somewhat painterly style, with rough strokes and no outlines.

Background

For this one, I wanted a brighter, more lively drawing. As you can see in the colors used, especially the ones for shading, I really wanted to give this a more vibrant feel. I also wished to have a more drawing-style drawing, which made me use this brush with rough edges for most of the drawing.

Techniques

Highly saturated, hue-shifted values were used for the shading colors on the clothes, making the drawing look vibrant. The leaves and flowers on the hedge are layered, going from dark to bright, in order to make it look voluminous. The sunlight and the lake on the right used very bright colors in order to invoke a sense of bright light.
