Description

"strange" is a chibi drawing of Renko and Merry atop a roof in front of a full moon. Renko is looking up at the sky towards some feathers, while Merry is looking down at a pair of tails.

Motive

I wanted a keychain and I needed a cute illustration to go with it. At the same time, I wanted to draw another nighttime drawing because those are very fun (and also frustrating sometimes) to color. This drawing is also a reference to the music track "Uncanny Bird of the Moon, Illusion of the Bakeneko" from Ghostly Field Club, which is the theme of Renko and Merry.

Process

As a drawing for a keychain, I drew the characters first and foremost. The background came later after the characters were basically complete, so I just eyeballed most of the lighting. After that, I added the stars and moon, and then the rooftop background (as these look cool and are generally quite easy to draw). Finally, I added the feathers, the tails and my name on the top right to top it all off.
