portrait 2 - 2023, June 18th
Description
"portrait 2" is a drawing of Koishi facing left in a 3/4-like view.
Background
After the multiple Koishi drawings and reimu night, I took quite a long break from drawing, which I assume was because of my midterm exams. This was my first drawing after I returned, if I'm remembering correctly. This was another first attempt at a new style, more specifically, the famous "anime illustration" type. Of course, I failed miserably, most likely because I still wasn't even familiar with thin outlines at the time, nor did I know how to shade correctly.
The name of this piece was given afterwards, "portrait 2" being chosen because this drawing was the second drawing to simply be a portrait of Koishi without a pre-given theme or name.
Techniques
The hair color on the bangs and the side fade into a more yellow color as they approach the edges to represent the thinning of hair near the end, blending into the skin. The shading on the hair is done in vaguely sharp shapes to represent strands of hair.
