Description

"embrace" is a pixel art drawing of Koishi against a blue background, with both arms outstretched towards the viewer. The background goes from bright cyan to dark indigo from top to bottom in 4 stages with a cloud-like transition between colors.

There are no outlines except for a solid 1 pixel thick external outline surrounding Koishi.

Background

I drew a lot of non-pixel digital art prior to this, so I decided to draw another pixel art drawing with this. For this one specifically, I used the default Pixilart palette, as I wanted to draw on the same Chromebook I did the other drawings on. My main pixel art program is Paint.NET, but I assume those don't run on Chromebooks, or at least, not very well. The face and the hands are quite strange, but the cloth parts and the hat seem to be decent, probably due to experience from my previous drawings.

Techniques

Directional shading was used to make it feel like the light source was to the right of the canvas. Round shapes were used for the background gradient to make it look more interesting. Chunks of hair were broken with small bits of shading to make it look detailed but also combined.
