Description

"dream" is a pixel art drawing of Renko carrying Maribel. Renko is standing through a gap, the background being the Bamboo Forest of the Lost, and the other side being the restaurant from Changeability of Strange Dream.

Background

I decided to make a pixel art drawing, which I haven't done in a while at that point. This drawing is also the second entry in the "Hifuu Roadmap" project, based off of Changeability of Strange Dream. I wanted to have the two characters actually touch each other as well, while also having Maribel in an unusual, non-generic position. Finally, this drawing was also made as a practice for colors in the dark, which was later utilized in nighttime drawings like rooftop.

Techniques

The drawing uses a lineless pixel art style, with rim lighting on the characters. The background is made entirely out of shades of dark blue, making it cohesive and blend well together, while allowing the characters to stand out.
