Description

"call" is a pencil drawing on a lined paper, depicting Koishi holding a phone linked to her cords with her left hand, and a knife behind her back with her right.

The outline is made up of mostly consistent pencil lines, and there is no fill.

Background

"call" is the oldest drawing I've decided to post on this site. It essentially acts as a marker for when I actually started learning and improving at drawing. Of course, being one of my first drawings, there aren't a lot of details that I was able to express, but I think this one looks kind of decent, actually. This was before I learned any actual anatomy, and just drew from observation, which is why there are a lot of glaring issues clearly visible. All in all, just a simple drawing that represents the start of my journey.

The inspiration for this drawing came from Touhou 14.5 Urband Legend in Limbo, where Koishi uses "Mary-san" as her urban legend, using the phone and knife as her signature weapon.

This is the only physical drawing from 2022 saved here, as my "drawings" at the time were more just getting used to actually drawing than full-fledged illustrations. The name of this piece was given afterwards, "call" being chosen simply because the drawing depicts Koishi calling someone.

Techniques

You can see rudimentary attempts at clothes folds, near the waist and on the sleeves. Also, her head is slightly tilted to the right, even if the angles on the face aren't quite right.
