Description

"sanatorium" is a painterly-style portrait of Maribel from Neo-traditionalism of Japan, with gaps tearing through the drawing in streaks.

Background

For this one, I wanted to try a more realistic style, especially regarding the face, while also going for a more creepy vibe. I figured Neo-traditionalism of Japan would be a perfect fit for this, which is why I used that specific design.

Techniques

Various size brushes were used to portray different amounts of detail, with a lot of cleaning around the edges to make it look more authentic. More "realistic" proportions were used for the face, to make it resemble an actual portrait.
